Barachukki Waterfall Festival

Witness the spectacular beauty of the Kaveri River unfold in a grand seasonal celebration. Held alongside the Gaganachukki Festival, the Barachukki Jalapathotsava brings alive the roaring grandeur of the twin falls with dazzling cultural programs, local art, and scenic nature trails.

  • Illumination Display: Spectacular special lighting that illuminates the cascading waters after sunset.
  • Nature Walks: Guided eco-trails and viewpoints focusing entirely on the beauty of Bharachukki Falls.
  • Local Food Stalls: Fairs featuring authentic regional cuisine and local handicrafts.

How to Reach Barachukki:

  • Road: Roughly 3 hours (130 km) from Bengaluru via the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway / Kanakapura Road.
  • Train: Nearest major station is Maddur or Mysuru; local taxis are available from there.
  • Air: Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) is the primary major transit option.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Visit during or right after the peak monsoon for the best waterfall volume.
  • Expect heavy crowds and traffic snarls on the main festival weekend.
  • Maintain safety guidelines and stay strictly within the designated viewpoints.
